WELCOME TO THE

Walk for Wellness

Thursdays at 6 PM

Stony Plain Rotary Park 4815 44 Avenue, Stony Plain

The Walk for Wellness is a community-focused initiative aimed at fostering mental and emotional well-being through outdoor walks. This term, similar to our successful summer term, we will offer three sessions centered around the topics of Mindfulness, Self-Compassion, and Boundaries. Each walk is designed to promote community connection, personal growth, and a safe space for participants to explore these themes.

Mindfulness
October 10

Participants are introduced to the topic of mindfulness and will learn about practices that support this in their everyday life. Facilitators will speak about the benefits of these practices and pose questions to the group about how they may incorporate this into their life space.

Self-Compassion
October 17

Participants are introduced to self-compassion and will learn the three key components of this definition, delving into how this may translate into their lives. Facilitators present the benefits of self-compassion to the group, and a conversation about the many ways one can cultivate this in one's life is presented as a starting point for an interactive and thoughtful discussion to be continued on the walk.

Boundaries
October 24

Participants are introduced to the topic of boundaries and will learn the various types of boundaries that individuals may set or engage with daily. Facilitators will share relevant information about how individuals can increase their boundary setting through the development of numerous strategies. Thought-provoking questions will be shared with the group to generate conversation that will be continued during the walk.
