We’d like to introduce you to Cheyanne, Skye and Nyamal (Nye), our newest cohort of interns. These fantastic humans are all finishing their Masters level work before becoming Registered Psychologists and are here to hone their skills over the next nine months.
The Dóchas Internship program runs in conjunction with the Dóchas Hub for Hope, which offers free counselling to those who are struggling financially. If you are interested in learning more about the Dóchas Hub for Hope click here.
Meet Cheyanne Soetaert
Cheyanne truly believes everyone deserves to have their story heard and that human connection is the foundation of growth. Her journey in the mental health field began several years ago while supporting children and their families in various capacities. She is grateful for these connections and has found that everyone needs someone in their corner to help navigate challenges and celebrate successes.
In her personal life, you can find her spending time with her puppy, hanging out with family, and enjoying the outdoors.

Meet Skye Humber
Skye has always been deep feeling and curious about behaviour. In short, she believes that our world needs less judgment and more love! Somewhere along the way, she developed a passion for assisting individuals to heal, find peace, and have the courage and confidence to navigate challenges. Everyone needs a little support every now and again.
Her goal is for clients to feel seen and heard, but also empowered. As a student, she is thrilled to explore her professional identity and ultimately learn and grow alongside her clients.
Meet Nyamal Guet
Nyamal’s counselling style has an ‘in it together’ collaborative approach designed to leave you feeling heard, supported, empowered, respected, and connected. As a practicum intern, she is thrilled to walk alongside her clients as they navigate what life throws at them. Her goal is to do everything in her power to offer kindness, hope, peace, a safe space, and a professional atmosphere in which you are genuinely cared for.
In her spare time, she loves to listen to podcasts, do karaoke, enjoy the sunset, get hooked on an engaging documentary, travel, do something crafty, do a photoshoot, or have enriching heart-to-heart conversations with loved ones (and sometimes strangers).
Cheyanne, Skye and Nyamal will be with Dóchas until August of 2024. If you know of anyone looking for high-quality therapy but might not have been able to afford it, check out Hub For Hope, give the office a call at 780 446 0300 or email us at Dochascollabhub@gmail.com.
